Custom Rack Mount Enclosures & Chassis

Our rack mount enclosures and rack mount chassis are designed for the housing and protection of electrical or electronic equipment. Rack mount enclosures are intended to make installation and removal of electronic components relatively easy, by facilitating the use of components and electronic assemblies made with standard slide or alignment rails.

Rack mount enclosures are typically used for desktop computers, computer servers, and LAN network installations.

EMW can custom manufacture a wide range of optional features for your rack mount enclosure or chassis, including multiple compartments, multiple doors, louvers, fixed or hinged windows, leveling feet, swing out panels, cable cradles and others, to your specifications. EMW has the capacity to custom form and manufacture the rack mount enclosure that most closely meets the needs of your application. An almost limitless range of configurations, shapes and sizes of rack mount enclosures can be custom manufactured to your requirements.

EMW’s custom manufactured enclosures and housings can also be made to conform to a wide variety of NEMA ratings, as your specifications require. (We are also your source for high-quality turbine enclosures and electrical enclosures.

EMW can also custom configure your rack mount enclosure or rack mount chassis, in terms of cutout patterns, mounting options, sub-panels, rails and just about any special requirement you may have. A variety of finishing options are also available when needed.

We can manufacture our rack enclosures, like all of our products, in mild carbon steel, stainless steel (304 and 316), and aluminum (Series 3000, 5000 and 6000). A variety of finishing options are available.

Enclosures Formed to Fit Your Requirements

Our rack enclosures are created through a metal forming process (not through a metal extrusion process), which gives us the flexibility required to manufacture a unique enclosure that fits the requirements of each customer’s application. EMW’s metal forming process also allows for the manufacture of rack mount enclosures that meet close tolerances.

EMW is a full service metal fabricator offering a wide range of capabilities in the manufacture of enclosures and a vast range of other products. These capabilities include:

• Saw, torch, and plasma cutting
• Water jet precision cutting with a 12'x12' working envelope and dual cutting heads
• CAD/CAM design and programming
• 12' press brakes up to 350 tons with CNC back gauging
• CNC punching up to 1/4" plate
• MIG and TIG welding of all alloys (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW certified welders and welding to ASME Sec. IX & AWS D1.1 code)
• CNC precision shearing up to 12 ft. in 1/4" carbon steel, 3/8" aluminum and 3/16" stainless steel
• Rolling up to 1/4" x 8' long

We have finishing options (powder coat or wet paint) available when needed. Although we are not paint experts by trade or claim to be, we do offer coating/application services through outside sources. All coating will be at the customer's request and specification. To ensure that our customers receive the proper coatings for their applications, we require the customer's approval on their specifications prior to coating. EMW does not make coating recommendations for any application. Essentially, you tell us the kind of coating or finish you need or prefer and we will make sure that coating or finish is applied properly.
