What Are Pump Skids?
A skid or industrial skid is basically a steel pallet, a flat structure built to carry certain objects, particularly machinery and related equipment. Industrial skids have a wide range of uses, particularly in manufacturing and onshore oilfield applications, and can come in all sorts of sizes, ranging from a few feet square all the way to 15 or more feet in length.
Above all else, industrial skids must be strong enough to safely withstand the loads they will be expected to carry and retain their structural integrity after being moved from one place to another, whether by crane or vehicle. Skids may also require walkways or areas for technicians to stand while performing certain tasks.
Pump skids are frequently found in onshore oilfield applications and in chemical plants for pumping fluids such as water or oil, or any number of chemicals including various types of acid. Aside from the array of pipes and tubing required for its unique application, a pump skid also generally holds a variety of associated equipment, including valves, tanks, filtration devices, mixers and digital or analog gauges. All this is in a self-contained package that must also be portable so it can be moved from one worksite to another, so durability and weight may also be factors in the pump skid’s design and construction.

- 12' press brakes up to 350 tons with CNC back gauging
- CNC precision shearing up to 12 ft. in 1/4" carbon steel, 3/8" aluminum and 3/16" stainless steel
- CNC punching up to 1/4" plate
- CAD/CAM design and programming
- MIG and TIG welding of all alloys (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW certified welders and welding to ASME Sec. IX & AWS D1.1 code)
- Rolling up to 1/4" x 8' long
In addition, we offer finishing options, including powder coat or wet paint for cosmetic treatment, by working strictly with affordable, reputable third-party coating specialists.
