equipment skidEconomy Metal Works has a long track record of manufacturing equipment skids of the highest quality and durability. We pride ourselves on offering diversity and flexibility in the types of products we offer and our manufacturing approach. No matter how unusual your particular requirements may be, EMW is equipped and ready to provide the custom manufactured equipment skid you need.

What Are Equipment Skids?

An equipment skid is basically a steel pallet, a flat structure built to carry certain objects, particularly machinery and related equipment. Equipment skids have a wide range of uses, particularly in manufacturing and onshore oilfield applications, and can come in all sorts of sizes, ranging from a few feet square all the way to 15 or more feet in length.

Above all else, equipment skids must be strong enough to safely withstand the loads they will be expected to carry and retain their structural integrity after being moved from one place to another, whether by crane or vehicle. Skids may also require walkways or sections for employees to stand while performing certain functions. In addition, skids must be able to endure the environment in which they will be used, particularly if that environment involves sea spray on offshore platforms.
