Economy Metal Works can provide a full range of custom manufactured industrial dampers, including manually operated dampers, backdraft dampers and motorized dampers. Our products are formed precisely to fit your specific requirements, delivered in a timely fashion and at a competitive price, and manufactured to a matchless standard of quality. Use our RFQ form at any time to find out how our array of flexible fabricating services can be applied to your project to satisfy the special requirements applicable to your manually operated damper.

Industries we have manufactured dampers for include the petrochemical, power generation and construction industries. Diversification is a word that defines us here at EMW and we stand eager to meet your particular and special need for a custom manufactured manually operated damper.

At the most basic level, a damper is an adjustable plate, or assembly of plates (or blades), used to control or to alternately block and allow a draft or an airflow. A manually operated damper is simply a damper whose blades are opened, closed or adjusted to an intermediate position through the manual movement of an actuator. Most commonly, a manually operated damper would be controlled by means of a handle that resides on the outside which houses the damper blades.

Important considerations with any manually operated damper include weight, durability, ease of operation and accuracy of fit in order to avoid leakage.

EMW’s expertise and capabilities as a full service custom precision metal fabricator allow us to form and manufacture manually operated dampers in a large range of sizes and shapes, and in materials including mild steel, galvanized, aluminum or stainless steel.

Custom Manually Operated Damper Manufacturing Services

EMW has the ability to manufacture a unique and custom damper, whether manually operated or of another type, for your application. We excel at both prototyping and production runs. We manufacture manually operated dampers and all other products to each customer’s special requirements.

Formed to Fit Your Requirements

Our dampers are created through a metal forming process (not through a metal extrusion process), which gives us the flexibility required to manufacture a unique damper product that fits the requirements of each customer’s application. EMW’s metal forming process also allows for the manufacture of a damper that meets close tolerances.

Our Capabilities Include:

  • CAD/CAM Design and Programming
  • CNC precision shearing up to 12 ft. in 1/4" carbon steel, 3/8" aluminum, 3/16 stainless steel
  • CNC punching up to 1/4" plate
  • 12ft. press brakes up to 350 ton with CNC back gauging
  • Saw, torch, and plasma cutting
  • Mig and tig welding all alloys
  • Rolling up to 1/4" x 8 ft. long, and 3/8" x 6 ft. long
  • Structural fabrication (skids, enclosures, rails, ladders, stairs, stands and more)
  • Precision waterjet cutting with a 12ft.x12ft working envelope

We have finishing options (powder coat or wet paint) available when needed. Although we are not paint experts by trade or claim to be, we do offer coating/application services through outside sources. All coating will be at the customer's request and specification. In order that the customer receives the proper coating for their exact application all specifications must come from and be approved by the customer prior to coating. EMW does not make coating recommendations for any application. Essentially, you tell us the kind of coating or finish you need or prefer and we will make sure that coating or finish is applied properly.

A variety of finishing options are available when needed.

Whether you have CAD drawings ready or just some verbal instructions to provide, you can be confident that EMW has the experience, know-how and determination to follow-through on your project and manufacture a custom manually operated damper that will fit your application.
