Heavy Duty Damper

Heavy Duty Dampers

Economy Metal Works can provide a full range of custom manufactured industrial dampers, including heavy-duty dampers, backdraft dampers and motorized dampers. EMW products are formed precisely to fit your specific requirements, delivered in a timely fashion and at a competitive price, and manufactured to a matchless standard of quality. Use our RFQ form at any time to find out how our array of flexible fabricating services can be applied to your project to satisfy the special requirements applicable to your heavy duty dampers.

Our capabilities and experience not only in precision sheet metal manufacturing but also with fabrication in light plate and structural materials make us perfectly positioned to manufacture heavy duty dampers.

Industries we have manufactured heavy duty dampers for include the petrochemical, power generation and construction industries. Diversification is a word that defines us here at EMW and we stand eager to meet your particular and special need for a custom manufactured heavy duty dampers.

What are Heavy Duty Dampers?

At the most basic level, a damper is an adjustable plate, or assembly of plates (also called blades), used to control or to alternately block and allow a draft or airflow. A heavy-duty damper is a damper similar to other designs but where the blades are specially reinforced to provide additional strength and rigidity. EMW can manufacture heavy-duty versions of any of the following standard types (and can manufacture to your custom requirements too):

  • Heavy Duty Backdraft Dampers: Backdraft Heavy Duty Dampers only permit air to flow in one direction in a duct or airway. They are commonly used to prevent outside air from entering a building through an exhaust duct.
  • Heavy Duty Manually Operated Dampers: Manually operated dampers are simply dampers, which are set by hand, as by the operation of a handle that sits outside the duct that the damper controls.
  • Heavy Duty Motorized Dampers: In motorized dampers, the plates or flaps, which control, block or allow the draft or airflow are actuated by motors. These motors are often linked to thermostats, for instance in zone controlled air conditioning systems.

Construction Materials for Heavy Duty Dampers:

Our Heavy-duty dampers, and all products and components manufactured by EMW can be manufactured in mild steel, galvanized, aluminum or stainless steel.

EMW's expertise and capabilities as a full service custom precision metal fabricator allow us to form and manufacture heavy-duty dampers in a large range of sizes and shapes, and in materials including mild steel, galvanized, aluminum or stainless steel.

Custom Heavy Duty Damper Manufacturer

EMW has the ability to manufacture a unique and custom heavy-duty damper for your application. We excel at both prototyping and production runs. We manufacture heavy-duty dampers and all other products to each customer’s special requirements.

Heavy Duty Dampers Formed to Fit Your Requirements

Our dampers are created through a metal forming process (not through a metal extrusion process), which gives us the flexibility required to manufacture a unique heavy-duty damper product that fits the requirements of each customer’s application. EMW’s metal forming process also allows for the manufacture of a damper that meets close tolerances.

Our Capabilities Include:

  • CAD/CAM Design and Programming
  • CNC precision shearing up to 12 ft. in 1/4" carbon steel, 3/8" aluminum, 3/16 stainless steel
  • CNC punching up to 1/4" plate
  • 12ft. press brakes up to 350 ton with CNC back gauging
  • Saw, torch, and plasma cutting
  • Mig and tig welding all alloys
  • Rolling up to 1/4" x 8 ft. long, and 3/8" x 6 ft. long
  • Structural fabrication (Skids, enclosures, rails, ladders, stairs, stands and more)
  • Precision waterjet cutting with a 12ft.x12ft working envelope

We have finishing options (powder coat or wet paint) available when needed. Although we are not paint experts by trade or claim to be, we do offer coating/application services through outside sources. All coating will be at the customer's request and specification. In order that the customer receives the proper coating for their exact application all specifications must come from and be approved by the customer prior to coating. EMW does not make coating recommendations for any application. Essentially, you tell us the kind of coating or finish you need or prefer and we will make sure that coating or finish is applied properly.

Whether you have CAD drawings ready or just some verbal instructions to provide, you can be confident that EMW has the experience, know-how and determination to follow-through on your project and manufacture a custom heavy-duty damper that will fit your application.
