What Are Decorative / Architectural Louvers?
Generally speaking, architectural / decorative louvers are designed for appearance, and are not functional as air passageways. Most architectural/decorative louvers therefore have closed slats and do not permit ventilation. (However, form as well as functionality can be combined if desired with custom designed and fabricated architectural / decorative louvers from EMW.)
Architectural or decorative louvers can be used to disguise or obscure irregularities or equipment that doesn’t need to be seen. However, often architectural /decorative louvers are used simply to enhance the appearance of a building’s exterior or enliven large interior walls. They are a great example of how the functional can become a form of art, and as mentioned, EMW can custom fabricate architectural / decorative louvers either with or without functional open ventilation slats.
Architectural and decorative louvers are often designed in pleasing shapes such as triangular, octagonal, round, oval, half-round or half-oval, cathedral or eyebrow.

We can fabricate architectural / decorative louvers, like all of our products, in mild carbon steel, stainless steel (304 and 316), galvanized and aluminum (3000, 5000 and 6000 series aluminum). A variety of finishing options are available.
Decorative / Architectural Louvers Formed to Fit Your Requirements
Our architectural and decorative louvers are created through a metal forming process (not through a metal extrusion process), which gives us the flexibility required to fabricate a unique louver product that fits the requirements of each customer’s application. EMW’s metal forming process also allows for the fabrication of an architectural/decorative louver that meets close tolerances.

We have finishing options (powder coat or wet paint) available when needed. Although we are not paint experts by trade or claim to be, we do offer coating/application services through outside sources. All coating will be at the customer's request and specification. In order that the customer receives the proper coating for their exact application all specifications must come from and be approved by the customer prior to coating. EMW does not make coating recommendations for any application. Essentially, you tell us the kind of coating or finish you need or prefer and we will make sure that coating or finish is applied properly.
